Helen Hamilton — First Grade

Welcome to first grade. My name is Helen Hamilton and I’m very happy to be a part of The Phoenix Schools family.  

I’m sure you’d like to know a little about me and my previous teaching experience. I am originally from Syracuse, NY and a graduate of Syracuse University. I taught for three years in public school, followed by thirteen years at home raising our four wonderful children and then back to teaching, this time in private schools for twenty-three year. The first thirteen years in private school were in Houston, Texas at a lovely school called Abercrombie Academy. 

We moved to Rocklin in 1996 and I started teaching at Merryhill in the Elk Grove area. That was a bit of a commute so six years ago I switched over to The Phoenix Schools. Now I’m close to home, at a beautiful school and working with terrific people. 

Every year I look forward to another wonderful and rewarding year with your children. I hope you will be as impressed with my teaching as I am with The Phoenix Schools. I am always anxious to get to know the parents of my students as we work together to build a solid foundation for every child’s future academic success.
