Parent Testimonial

It is with my whole heart when I say “Thank you”! to the entire Phoenix Staff.  From the first time we walked into the Blue Ravine campus and me Miss Nancy and Miss Daphne 14 years ago, to the Kindergarten Class with Max & Abby, to Mrs. De La Rosa being as excited with Brian’s math skills as I am!  Thank you all for being a positive partner in helping to raise my children.

Mission Statement

As a teacher I strive to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment; creating an academic foundation to promote each individual’s opportunity for success.

I encourage independence, enhance social skills; along with developing problem solving skills.  Through my classroom I establish an atmosphere for both the student and teacher to learn, care and grow.

Originally from Fremont, California; I hate to admit it but I am a Bay Area transplant.  I moved to Folsom five years ago and fell in love with this charming city.  Before moving to Folsom, my husband and I owned a “Day Spa” in the Bay Area.  I went from a soothing, calming spa atmosphere to a rambunctious and energetic school environment.  Crazy!  I have worked at the Phoenix School for over five years and have enjoyed every moment.

In addition to being a teacher here at Phoenix, I am also a wife and mother.  I have been married to my breathtaking husband, Hjalmer, for nine years and we have an amazing son, Evan, who is 6 and in first grade.  Evan is an extremely precocious, creative, funny boy who loves to be the center of attention and make people laugh.  He loves Tae Kwan Do and has worked very hard to earn his brown belt.  My husband and I have a passion to travel the world, currently we have voyaged abroad to Italy, Portugal, Hungary, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and Germany, just to name a few.  We lived abroad in Naples, Italy for eight months; needless to say, I love Pizza, the Florence skyline and classical art.

On my rare spare time I enjoy home improvement projects as I attempt to be crafty; my husband calls me, “Craft Dork!”    I enjoy spending family time outdoors biking, boating, and playing at the neighborhood parks.  My priorities in life are hanging out with my family and friends; surrounding myself with positive people; but most importantly laughing and enjoying life to its fullest.
