Dena Crumb — First Grade
My name is Dena Crumb and I have been teaching first grade at The Phoenix Schools for many years. I grew up in Southern California in a town called Simi Valley. I graduated from Simi High School and continued onto college. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary School Education and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. I attended Cal State, Northridge, Arizona State and received both of my degrees from Fresno State. Some of my hobbies have been dance, drawing and painting, and I have always been involved in special children organizations. To put myself through college I had jobs teaching pre-kindergartners, two year olds and teaching Kindergarten at a private school. Since graduating from college I have had many experiences in the educational field, teaching all grade levels from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade. I have taught in public schools, private schools and Christian schools with a wide range of curriculums. Today I have a great family, not only my Phoenix family, but a husband and two sons. I am very busy with my son’s sports and school activities. I don’t have too much free time, but would love to travel more. Overall teaching and my students are a big part of my life, which I enjoy with all my heart. The learning never stops for me, I think I know what to expect, but with teaching there is always new unexpected surprises. Each and every class has its own challenges, special memories, and heart touching times that will never be forgotten.
